Describe your role.

All things finance, accounting, payroll and administrative.   

What led you to become the director of finance?

I wanted to be in the non-profit world where I could work and make a difference all at the same time.  

Describe how your role intersects with the population we serve.

Making sure we are good stewards of the funding we receive provides resources for the clients we serve.   

How do you start each day?

With a pot of coffee and checking emails, Teams messages, phone calls and bank/investment activity.  

What types of things do you help clients with?

Every rent check I sign makes a difference in a clients’ life.  

Are there specific community partners or resources you work consistently with?

Our banking and investment partners and our funders. 

What is the most enjoyable part of your role?

Changing everything I possibly can to make finance/admin more effective and efficient.   

What is the most stressful part of your role?

Balancing multiple funder audits simultaneously.  

Does work follow you home?

Every day.  I’m always looking for ways to make changes.  

How do you unwind?

Drink tequila, walking, reading  

Briefly share the story of a memorable client or situation. 

I love the days when a HSS will come ask to deliver a check to a landlord so the client can move in at that time.
